Removal [01/2019 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.
  2. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to remove the shift lock release button cover from the position indicator housing assembly.

      *a Protective Tape
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the shift lock release button cover and position indicator housing assembly.

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  1

  4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

  5. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the floor shift transmission control select cable.

      *a Stopper
      NOTE:

      Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

    4. Turn the nut of the floor shift transmission control select cable approximately 180° counterclockwise and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      *a Stopper
      *b Nut
      *c Turn approximately 180°
      NOTE:
      • Do not turn the nut excessively as the internal spring may come off and the floor shift transmission control select cable will not be reusable.
      • Do not forcibly pull the floor shift transmission control select cable into the cabin.
  6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the transmission floor shift assembly.

    2. Disengage the 3 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

    4. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.
    5. Remove the transmission floor shift assembly.
