DTC B1579: Voice Recognition Microphone Disconnected [09/2019 - 04/2020]: Procedure

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I56 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the T6 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I56-25 (SNS2) - T6-4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      I56-22 (MIN-) - T6-5 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I56-25 (SNS2) or T6-4 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I56-22 (MIN-) or T6-5 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I72 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the T6 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I72-35 (MCI-) - T6-5 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I72-35 (MCI-) or T6-5 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the I56 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I72 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I56-22 (MIN-) - I72-19 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I56-22 (MIN-) or I72-19 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I56 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the T6 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I56-25 (SNS2) - T6-4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      I56-25 (SNS2) or T6-4 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Connect the B telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 09/2022]

    2. Disconnect the B telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 - T6-4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      B-2 - T6-5 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      B-1 or T6-4 (SNS2) - T6-11 (GND) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the I143 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the T6 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I143-7 (MCI-) - T6-5 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I143-7 (MCI-) or T6-5 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Disconnect the I143 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      I56-22 (MIN-) - I143-32 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I56-22 (MIN-) or I143-32 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
