DTC B15DB: Telematics Transceiver Disconnected [06/2018 - 03/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 90 seconds.
    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the I72 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I72-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I72-1 (+B) - I72-4 (E) Always 11 to 14 V
      I72-8 (ACC) - I72-4 (E) Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      I72-7 (IG2) - I72-4 (E) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)) 
    1. Disconnect the I57 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the t1 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I57-10 (USBV) - t1-5 (USBV) Always Below 1 Ω
      I57-11 (USBG) - t1-3 (USBG) Always Below 1 Ω
      I57-10 (USBV) or t1-5 (USBV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I57-11 (USBG) or t1-3 (USBG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the I57 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Radio and Display Receiver Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I57-11 (USBG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I57-10 (USBV) - I57-11 (USBG) Engine switch on (ACC) 4.75 to 5.25 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - NAVIGATION ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the t1 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the t6 navigation ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      t1-2 (USB+) - t6-1 (USB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      t1-1 (USB-) - t6-2 (USB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      t1-6 (USBS) - t6-3 (USBS) Always Below 1 Ω
      t1-2 (USB+) or t6-1 (USB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      t1-1 (USB-) or t6-2 (USB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      t1-6 (USBS) or t6-3 (USBS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. CHECK DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 09/2019]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the engine switch off.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 90 seconds.
    5. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG

  7. CHECK NAVIGATION ECU 
    1. Replace the navigation ECU with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 03/2019]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the engine switch off.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 90 seconds.
    5. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (NAVIGATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)

    NG
