Mute Signal Circuit between Radio Receiver and Stereo Component Amplifier [11/2018 - 10/2022]: Procedure

1. Remove the stereo component amplifier assembly with the connector(s) still connected.

   *a	Component with harness connected (Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly)

   Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2022]

2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   M3-1 (MUTE) - Body ground	Ignition switch ACC, audio system playing → Changing modes	2.0 V or higher → Below 1 V

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [02/2019 - 10/2019]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2019 - 10/2022]

1. Disconnect the G3 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the M3 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   G3-25 (MUT1) - M3-1 (MUTE)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G3-25 (MUT1) or M3-1 (MUTE) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK

2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
