DTC B2430: LED Headlight LH; DTC B2431: LED Headlight RH [02/2019 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Clear DTCs.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    3. Operate the light control switch to turn on the low beam headlights and wait 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2430 and B2431 are not output.

      Result

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH (LO TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the headlight unit assembly LH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH (S TERMINAL VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the headlight unit assembly LH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the A62 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G43 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A62-6 (S) - G43-14 (LLEW) Always Below 1 Ω
      A62-6 (S) or G43-14 (LLEW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP LH RELAY - HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Disconnect the A62 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (H-LP LH relay) - A62-1 (LO) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (H-LP LH relay) or A62-1 (LO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  8. INSPECT H-LP LH RELAY 
    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Inspect the H-LP LH relay.

    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Disconnect the 4F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (H-LP LH relay) - 4F-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (H-LP LH relay) or 4F-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  11. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      4F-31 - A-15 (HRLY) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

  12. CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH (LO TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the A61 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G43 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A61-6 (S) - G43-15 (RLEW) Always Below 1 Ω
      A61-6 (S) or G43-15 (RLEW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    2. Disconnect the A61 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      3 (H-LP RH relay) - A61-1 (LO) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (H-LP RH relay) or A61-1 (LO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
