Emergency Call Switch Illumination Circuit [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Check vehicle condition.

      Result

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the G131 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the P20*1 or P14*2 map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.
      1. *1: for TMC Made
      2. *2: for TMMC Made
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      FOR TMC MADE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P20-24 (RRID) - Body Ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      FOR TMMC MADE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P14-2 (RRID) - Body Ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR TMC MADE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G131-3 (SIG-) - P20-14 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G131-3 (SIG-) or P20-14 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR TMMC MADE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G131-3 (SIG-) - P14-10 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G131-3 (SIG-) or P14-10 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch).

      *A for TMC Made
      *B for TMMC Made
      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Sub-assembly (Manual [SOS] Switch))

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector.
      Measurement Condition Condition Specified Condition
      Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 4 (RRID)
      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 11 (GND3)
      Always Manual (SOS) switch illumination comes on
    3. for TMC Made:

      Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 10 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 14 (GND3) of the map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.

      for TMMC Made:

      Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 11 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 10 (GND3) of the map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.

      OK

      The manual (SOS) switch illumination comes on.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [10/2022 - ] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the G131 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the P20*1 or P14*2 map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.
      1. *1: for TMC Made or for TMMC Made, with Panoramic Moon Roof System
      2. *2: for TMMC Made, without Panoramic Moon Roof System
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      FOR TMC MADE OR FOR TMMC MADE, WITH PANORAMIC MOON ROOF SYSTEM

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P20-24 (RRID) - Body Ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      FOR TMMC MADE, WITHOUT PANORAMIC MOON ROOF SYSTEM

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR TMC MADE OR FOR TMMC MADE, WITH PANORAMIC MOON ROOF SYSTEM

      G131-3 (SIG-) - P20-14 (SIG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G131-3 (SIG-) or P20-14 (SIG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR TMMC MADE, WITHOUT PANORAMIC MOON ROOF SYSTEM

  6. INSPECT MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch).

      *A for TMC Made or for TMMC Made, with Panoramic Moon Roof System
      *B for TMMC Made, without Panoramic Moon Roof System
      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Sub-assembly (Manual [SOS] Switch))

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector.
      Measurement Condition Condition Specified Condition
      Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 4 (RRID)
      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 11 (GND3)
      Always Manual (SOS) switch illumination comes on
    3. for TMC Made or for TMMC Made, with Panoramic Moon Roof System:

      Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 10 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 14 (SIG-) of the map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.

      for TMMC Made, without Panoramic Moon Roof System:

      Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 11 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 10 (GND3) of the map light sub-assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.

      OK

      The manual (SOS) switch illumination comes on.

      Result

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

  7. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result
