DTC B15C5: Manual Button Malfunction [11/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B15C5 is output A
      DTC B15C5 is not output B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - ] 

    Result:

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the map light sub-assembly.

      *A for TMC Made
      *B for TMMC Made
      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Sub-assembly)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR TMC MADE:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      18 (SIG1) - 12 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 410 to 414 Ω
      18 (SIG1) - 12 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 81 to 83 Ω
      FOR TMMC MADE:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      9 (SIG1) - 10 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 410 to 414 Ω
      9 (SIG1) - 10 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 81 to 83 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY) - MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G9 DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the P14 map light sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR TMC MADE:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G9-26 (SIG-) - P14-12 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G9-26 (SIG-) or P14-12 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G9-27 (SIG1) - P14-18 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G9-27 (SIG1) or P14-18 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR TMMC MADE:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G9-26 (SIG-) - P14-10 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G9-26 (SIG-) or P14-10 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G9-27 (SIG1) - P14-9 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G9-27 (SIG1) or P14-9 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [11/2018 - 10/2019]
