DTC B15C0: Short in GPS Antenna; DTC B15C1: Open in GPS Antenna [11/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B15C0 or B15C1 is output A
      DTC B15C0 or B15C1 is not output B

    Result: 

    B 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - ]

  2. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (No. 1 amplifier antenna assembly) connector.

      (to Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No 3 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-5 - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-5a - B-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      A-5 or B-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (w/ SXM Function) A
      OK (w/o SXM Function) B

  3. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 - C-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-1a - C-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      B-1 or C-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C-1 - E-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      C-1a - E-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      C-1 or E-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

      (to DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly))
    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E-1 - G-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E-1a - G-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      E-1 or G-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2019] 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (NO. 1 AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (No. 1 amplifier antenna assembly) with a known good one and check if the same problem occurs again.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END

  7. REPLACE DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2019]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (Telephone Transceiver Assembly) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [11/2018 - 10/2019] 

  8. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 - C-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-1a - C-5a Always Below 1 Ω
      B-1 or C-5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

  9. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C-5 - E-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      C-5a - E-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      C-5 or E-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
