Installation [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL BATTERY 
  2. INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Torque: 3.5 N*m (36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf) 

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf) 

  4. CONNECT BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. When the battery is not replaced:

      1. Connect the battery state sensor assembly connector.
    2. When replacing the battery:

      *a Crimped Portion - -
      1. Loosen the battery state sensor assembly nut up to just before the crimp to make sure that the clamp is open.
      2. Connect the battery state sensor assembly to the battery and tighten the nut.

        Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Insert until the battery terminal upper end exceeds the height of the battery state sensor assembly terminal upper end.

        HINT: 

        Make sure to position the battery state sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    After connecting the ground terminal to the battery state sensor assembly, the initial diagnosis of the electronic throttle control is conducted by the vehicle. Therefore, wait for 10 seconds or more after turning the ignition switch to ON, and then start the engine.

    HINT: 
    • Install the battery state sensor assembly while holding it by hand to prevent rotating.
    • Connect the positive terminal of the battery, and then connect the ground terminal to the battery state sensor assembly.
    • Some DTCs may be detected, so after connecting the ground terminal to the battery state sensor assembly, wait for 10 seconds or more and then turn the ignition switch to ON.

    Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) 

  6. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [11/2021 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
