DTC B1508-19: Turn Signal/Hazard Flasher Circuit Current Above Threshold [11/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All LH turn signal lights do not blink A
      All RH turn signal lights do not blink B

  2. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the A131*1, A134*2 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: for LED Type Front Turn Signal Light
      2. *2: for Bulb Type Front Turn Signal Light

      Result

      LH side turn signal lights blink A
      LH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for LED Type Front Turn Signal Light)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A131-6 (B) or I5-5 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (for Bulb Type Front Turn Signal Light)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A134-1 (B) or I5-5 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Connect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Connect the A131*1, A134*2 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the O104*3, O43*4 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: for LED Type Front Turn Signal Light
      2. *2: for Bulb Type Front Turn Signal Light
      3. *3: for Sedan
      4. *4: for Hatchback

      Result

      LH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  5. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Connect the O104*1, O43*2 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the L9 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: for Sedan
      2. *2: for Hatchback

      Result

  6. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the O104*1, O43*2 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O104-3 (B)*1, O43-4 (B)*2, L9-5 (B) or I5-22 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: for Sedan
      2. *2: for Hatchback

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the A133*1, A132*2 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: for LED Type Front Turn Signal Light
      2. *2: for Bulb Type Front Turn Signal Light

      Result

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Disconnect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.

      A133-6 (B) or I5-6 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (for Bulb Type Front Turn Signal Light)

  10. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Connect the A133*1, A132*2 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the O103*3, O42*4 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: for LED Type Front Turn Signal Light
      2. *2: for Bulb Type Front Turn Signal Light
      3. *3: for Sedan
      4. *4: for Hatchback

      Result

      RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

  11. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the O103*1, O42*2 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K10 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: for Sedan
      2. *2: for Hatchback

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH AND OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the O103*1, O42*2 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O103-3 (B)*1, O42-4 (B)*2, K10-5 (B) or I5-21 (TRNR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: for Sedan
      2. *2: for Hatchback

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
