Open in Bus 4 Main Bus Line [02/2019 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the No. 1 CAN junction connector.

      (to No. 1 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 4 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to No. 6 CAN Junction Connector - -
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Connected to
      G96-9 (CANH) - G96-20 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 4 CAN junction connector
      G96-10 (CANH) - G96-21 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 6 CAN junction connector

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the G96 No. 1 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the No. 6 CAN junction connector.

      *b to Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU)
      *c to No. 1 CAN Junction Connector - -
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      M31-3 (CANH) - M31-9 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU)
      M31-4 (CANH) - M31-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 1 CAN junction connector

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR - NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the G96 No. 1 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the No. 4 CAN junction connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      G104-4 (CANH) - G104-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 1 CAN junction connector

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR - NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU [NETWORK GATEWAY ECU] - NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the M31 No. 6 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.

      (to Central Gateway ECU [Network Gateway ECU])
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G72-22 (CA2H) - G72-7 (CA2L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU [NETWORK GATEWAY ECU] - NO. 6 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  5. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the G104 No. 4 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the airbag ECU assembly connector.

      w/ Occupant Classification System: Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2019 - 08/2020]

      w/o Occupant Classification System: Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2018 - 08/2020]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G70-26 (CANH) - G70-27 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    Result:

    REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020]

    REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
