Check Bus 1 Line for Short to +B [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the No. 2 CAN junction connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  2. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU [NETWORK GATEWAY ECU] - NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the G102 No. 2 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      G72-23 (CA1H) - G114-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      G72-8 (CA1L) - G114-16 (BAT)

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU [NETWORK GATEWAY ECU] - NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  3. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 8 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the G102 No. 2 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the No. 8 CAN junction connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE (ECU, SENSOR) 
    1. Reconnect all wire harness connectors.
    2. Disconnect the connector that includes terminals CANH and CANL from the ECU or sensor to which the bus line shorted to +B is connected.

      Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [10/2023 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G72-23 (CA1H) - G114-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      G72-8 (CA1L) - G114-16 (BAT)

      HINT: 

      • If the resistance changes to 6 kΩ or higher when the connector is disconnected from the ECU or sensor, there may be a short in the ECU or sensor.
      • If the resistance does not become normal when the connector is disconnected from the ECU or sensor, check for a short to +B in the wire harness and repair or replace the wire harness or connector if necessary.
