DTC B1476: A/C Inverter Load System Malfunction [11/2018 - 02/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Using the Techstream, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - 02/2019]

      Result

      CAN communication system DTCs are not output A
      CAN communication system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - 02/2019]

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE ENGINE COOLING FAN DUTY RATIO) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test.
    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Restrict Condition
      Control the Engine Cooling Fan Duty Ratio Electric cooling fan motor operation 0 to 100 (%) Perform this test when vehicle is stopped.

      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Control the Engine Cooling Fan Duty Ratio

      OK

      Electric cooling fan operates smoothly.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO COOLING FAN SYSTEM. Refer to  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [11/2018 - 02/2019]

    OK

  3. CHECK REFRIGERANT PRESSURE 
    1. Install a manifold gauge set.
      1. for HFC-134a (R134a): Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [11/2018 - 08/2020]
      2. for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf): Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [11/2018 - 02/2019]
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Read the manifold gauge pressure when the following conditions are met.
      1. Prepare the vehicle according to the table below.
        MEASUREMENT CONDITION:

        Item Condition
        Vehicle Condition Power switch on (READY)
        Doors Fully closed (windows also fully closed)
        A/C Switch On
        Recirculation/fresh Control Switch Recirculation
        Set Temperature MAX COLD
        Blower Speed HI
        Air Conditioning Air Inlet Temperature 25 to 35°C (77 to 95°F)

      Standard Pressure

      Low pressure side 

      150 to 250 kPa (1.5 to 2.5 kgf/cm2 , 22 to 36 psi)

      High pressure side 

      1370 to 1570 kPa (14 to 16 kgf/cm2 , 199 to 228 psi)

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019]

    CHARGE REFRIGERANT 

    1. for HFC-134a (R134a): Refer to REPLACEMENT [11/2018 - 08/2020]
    2. for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf): Refer to REPLACEMENT [11/2018 - 02/2019]
