AWD Warning Remains ON [11/2018 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (DYNAMIC TORQUE VECTORING AWD SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Four Wheel Drive / Utility / Vehicle Control History (RoB).
    4. Using the Techstream, check for Vehicle Control History.

      Refer to VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY [11/2018 - ] 

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Control History (RoB)

      HINT: 

      If vehicle control history is stored when the dynamic torque vectoring 4WD/AWD system are suspended, the warning message is displayed.

      Result

      There is no vehicle control history for when the dynamic torque vectoring AWD system were suspended. A

    Result: 

    PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR REGARDING VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY 

    Refer to VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY [11/2018 - ] 

    NOTE:

    After performing troubleshooting and repair regarding vehicle control history, clear the vehicle control history.

  2. CHECK IF 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED 
    1. Check if the 4WD ECU assembly connector is securely connected.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG1 TERMINAL) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the 4WD ECU assembly connector.

      (to 4WD ECU Assembly)
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      N3-24 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND TERMINAL) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the N3 4WD ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N3-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (4WD WARNING LIGHT) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Four Wheel Drive / Data List.
    6. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Data List

      4WD Warning Light AWD warning (multi-information display) OFF / ON OFF: Warning off
      ON: Warning on

    7. Check the Techstream display condition of the 4WD warning light.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Display of the Data List remains OFF
      Display of the Data List remains ON

    Result: 

    Display of the Data List remains OFF 

    GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    Display of the Data List remains ON 

    REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]
