DTC P0710-00: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0710-00) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes 

    5. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC P0710-00 is output A
      DTC P0710-00 and P0710-15 are output B
      DTC P0710-00 and other DTCs are output C

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than DTC P0710-00 are output, perform troubleshooting for those DTCs first.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (DTC P0710-15) 

    Refer to DTC P0710-15: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Short to Battery or Open [08/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART 

    Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2022 - ]

    Result:

  2. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL 
    1. Check the automatic transaxle fluid level.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2021 - ]

      OK

      Automatic transaxle fluid level is correct.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    ADJUST AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2021 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK TRANSMISSION WIRE CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C41-46 (THO1) - C41-45 (ETHO) ATF temperature 10°C (50°F) 5 to 8 kΩ
      C41-46 (THO1) - C41-45 (ETHO) ATF temperature 110°C (230°F) 0.22 to 0.28 kΩ
      C41-45 (ETHO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C41-46 (THO1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT: 

      If the resistance is out of the specified range at the ATF temperature shown in the table below, the driveability of the vehicle may decrease.

      ATF Temperature Specified Condition
      25°C (77°F) 2.5 to 4.5 kΩ

  4. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM REGISTRATION 

    Refer to REGISTRATION [11/2018 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C30-1 (OIL) - C41-46 (THO1) Always Below 1 Ω
      C30-2 (E2) - C41-45 (ETHO) Always Below 1 Ω
      C30-1 (OIL) or C41-46 (THO1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C30-2 (E2) or C41-45 (ETHO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)
