DTC B242F: Open in B Power Line [02/2019 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS or AFS (Sub) / Clear DTCs.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Wait 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS or AFS (Sub) / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B242F is not output.

      Result

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A11-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A11-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  5. INSPECT H-LP LH RELAY 
    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Inspect the H-LP LH relay.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [02/2019 - ]

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE H-LP LH RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP LH RELAY - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Disconnect the A11 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (H-LP LH relay) - A11-13 (ECUB) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (H-LP LH relay) or A11-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP LH RELAY - BATTERY) 
    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (H-LP LH relay) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      5 (H-LP LH relay) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP LH RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the H-LP LH relay.
    2. Disconnect the 4F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (H-LP LH relay) - 4F-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (H-LP LH relay) or 4F-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

  9. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)

    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4F-31 - A-15 (HRLY) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A12-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A12-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  12. INSPECT H-LP RH RELAY 
    1. Remove the H-LP RH relay.
    2. Inspect the H-LP RH relay.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [02/2019 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE H-LP RH RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP RH RELAY - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the H-LP RH relay.
    2. Disconnect the A12 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (H-LP RH relay) - A12-13 (ECUB) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (H-LP RH relay) or A12-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP RH RELAY - BATTERY) 
    1. Remove the H-LP RH relay.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP RH RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Remove the H-LP RH relay.
    2. Disconnect the G44 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (H-LP RH relay) - G44-12 (HRY2) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (H-LP RH relay) or G44-12 (HRY2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
