Back Door Closer does not Operate [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC B2250-01 is output B
      DTC B2251-01 is output C

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

    Refer to DTC B2250-01: Back Door Closer General Electrical Failure [10/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

    Refer to DTC B2251-01: Back Door Closer Switch General Electrical Failure [10/2023 - 11/2024] , or refer to DTC B2251-01: Back Door Closer Switch General Electrical Failure [11/2024 - ] 

    Result:

  2. CHECK BACK DOOR LOCK FUNCTION 
    1. Check if the back door can be fully closed by hand.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The back door can be closed normally A
      The back door cannot be closed normally B

    Result: 

    IMPROPER FIT OF BACK DOOR, OR A FOREIGN OBJECT IS STUCK IN BACK DOOR 

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R26, R28 and R29 multiplex network door ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R28-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R26-7 (ECUB) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      R29-5 (B) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      R26-9 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

    Result

    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R13 and R14 back door lock with courtesy light switch connectors.
    2. Disconnect the R26 and R28 multiplex network door ECU connectors.
    3. Disconnect the 4H instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R13-2 (M+) - R28-2 (DC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      R13-1 (M-) - R28-6 (DC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-4 (CTY) - R26-3 (FUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-2 (FSW) - R26-13 (PAWL) Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-3 (CLS) - R26-5 (HAF) Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-6 (OPN) - R26-15 (POS) Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      R13-2 (M+) or R28-2 (DC+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R13-1 (M-) or R28-6 (DC-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R14-4 (CTY) or R26-3 (FUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R14-2 (FSW) or R26-13 (PAWL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R14-3 (CLS) or R26-5 (HAF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R14-6 (OPN) or R26-15 (POS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU
