Center Airbag Sensor Communication Stop Mode [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY MAIN WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    2. Disconnect the airbag ECU assembly connector.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2020 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G70-26 (CANH) - G70-27 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE AND CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G70-32 (E2) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      G70-33 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

      (to Airbag ECU Assembly)
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G70-36 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
