DTC B2430: LED Headlight LH Circuit Malfunction; DTC B2431: LED Headlight RH Circuit Malfunction [11/2015 - 12/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - 07/2020]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - 07/2020]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Both DTC B2430 and B2431 are not output. A
      Both DTC B2430 and B2431 are output. B
      Only DTC B2430 or B2431 is output. C

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 - 12/2018]

  2. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018]

    2. Inspect the No. 1 integration relay.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2015 -]

      OK

      No. 1 integration relay is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      1A-5 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      1B-8 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1B-2 - 3F-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      1B-2 or 3F-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1A-11 - 3F-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      1A-11 or 3F-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018] 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A11*1 or A34*2 headlight assembly connector.
      1. *1: for LH Side
      2. *2: for RH Side
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Temporarily replace the headlight assembly with a new or known good one.

    1. Disconnect the F17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
