Seat Heater for Front Left Seat does not Operate [04/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2018 - ]

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Clear DTCs 

      Result

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2018 - ]

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B14B5 and B14C1 are not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [04/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Active Test

    REPLACE SEAT HEATER SWITCH (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    NG

  4. INSPECT FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the front seatback heater assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021]

    2. Inspect the front seatback heater assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG POWER SUPPLY - FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R26 front seat cushion heater assembly LH connector.

      (to Front Seat Cushion Heater Assembly LH)
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R26-1 (B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      R26-1 (B) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R26-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Reconnect the R26 front seat cushion heater assembly LH connector.

      (to Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)
    2. Disconnect the G37 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G37-15 (SHD+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 5 to 13 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

  7. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the G37 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Remove the air conditioning amplifier assembly with its connectors still connected.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020]

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)      		 - -

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G37-15 (SHD+) - G35-4 (GND) Engine switch on (IG), seat heater switch (radio and display receiver assembly) on (LO) Below 1 V

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020]

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020] 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the R26 front seat cushion heater assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G37-15 (SHD+) - R26-6 (SWL) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
