DTC C0610-12: Right Electric Parking Brake Actuator Control Circuit Short to Battery [08/2021 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Make sure the No. 1 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    3. Disconnect the Y4 parking brake actuator assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y4-2 (RE+) - Y4-1 (RE-) Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 -] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Disconnect the YK1 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to No. 1 Parking Brake Wire Assembly)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      YK1-2 - YK1-1 Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Disconnect the YK1 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A28 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *c (to No. 1 Parking Brake Wire Assembly) - -

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      YK1-2 or A28-2 (MRR+) - Body ground Always Below 1 V
      YK1-1 or A28-3 (MRR-) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 -] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
