DTC B1507: Outside Temperature Sensor Open Detected [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC
    1. Check for DTCs.

Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes

      OK

DTC B1507 (current code) is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    NG

    See step  3

    Result:

    OK

    See step  2

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR
    1. Disconnect the A24 ambient temperature sensor(thermistor assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the F11 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Check the condition of each connector.

      OK

      Each connector is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

    HINT:

    • Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

    • In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE THE POOR CONTACT OF CONNECTOR.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

Tester Display Measurement Item Range Diagnostic Note
      Ambient air temperature External temperature sensor value display -40 - 80 °C (-40 to 176 °F) -

Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

      Tester Display
      Ambient air temperature

      OK

The value of the Data List item is correct.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    OK

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    Result:

    NG

    See step  4

  4. INSPECT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR(THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY)

    Refer to INSPECTION [11/2021 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result:

    NG

REPLACE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR(THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    Result:

    OK

    See step  5

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR(THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY) - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)
    1. Disconnect the A24 ambient temperature sensor(thermistor assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the F11 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-2 - F11-23(OUT TEMP SENSOR+) Always Below 10 Ω
      A24-1 - F11-24(OUT TEMP SENSOR GND) Always Below 10 Ω
A24-2 or F11-23(OUT TEMP SENSOR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A24-1 or F11-24(OUT TEMP SENSOR GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    OK

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    Result:
