Inspection [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross and 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY
    1. Inspect Solenoid Valve SL1:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        *a Component without harness connected
        (Solenoid Valve SL1)

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      2. If the result is not as specified, replace the transmission valve body assembly.
      3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery with a 21 W bulb to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the solenoid valve SL1 connector, and check that the solenoid valve SL1 moves and makes an operating sound.
        NOTE:

When using battery voltage during the inspection, do not bring the positive (+) and negative (-) tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

        OK

The solenoid valve SL1 moves and makes an operating sound.

      4. If the result is not as specified, replace the transmission valve body assembly.
    2. Inspect Solenoid Valve SL2:

      HINT:

Refer to Inspect Solenoid Valve SL1.

    3. Inspect Solenoid Valve SLU:

      HINT:

Refer to Inspect Solenoid Valve SL1.

    4. Inspect Solenoid Valve SLP:

      HINT:

Refer to Inspect Solenoid Valve SL1.

    5. Inspect Solenoid Valve SLS:

      HINT:

Refer to Inspect Solenoid Valve SL1.

    6. Inspect Solenoid Valve SC1:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        *a Component without harness connected
        (Solenoid Valve SC1)

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        Solenoid valve SC1 connector terminal - Solenoid valve SC1 body 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω
      2. If the result is not as specified, replace the transmission valve body assembly.
      3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal of the solenoid valve SC1 connector and a negative (-) lead to the solenoid valve SC1 body, and check that the solenoid valve SC1 moves and makes an operating sound.
        NOTE:

When using battery voltage during the inspection, do not bring the positive (+) and negative (-) tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

        OK

The solenoid valve SC1 moves and makes an operating sound.

      4. If the result is not as specified, replace the transmission valve body assembly.
    7. Inspect Solenoid Valve SC2:

      HINT:

Refer to Inspect Solenoid Valve SC1.

    8. Inspect Solenoid Valve SC3:

      HINT:

Refer to Inspect Solenoid Valve SC1.
