Speedometer Malfunction [09/2021 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication DTCs are output.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2021 - 11/2022]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2021 - 11/2022] 

    Result: 

    A

  2. CHECK FOR DTC (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM) 
    1. Check if electronically controlled brake system DTCs are output.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2021 - 11/2022]

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test

      (0 km/h, 0 mph)
      ON When this Active Test is performed, an actual vehicle speed signal is sent via CAN communication to the combination meter assembly to operate the speedometer. The seat belt warning buzzer, etc. may operate when performing this Active Test.
      Speed Signal Input (40) Vehicle speed test signal input*
      (40 km/h, 40 mph)
      ON
      • When this Active Test is performed, an actual vehicle speed signal is sent via CAN communication to the combination meter assembly to operate the speedometer. The seat belt warning buzzer, etc. may operate when performing this Active Test.
      • The value displayed on the speedometer may deviate.*
      Speed Signal Input (80) Vehicle speed test signal input*
      (80 km/h, 80 mph)

      • When this Active Test is performed, an actual vehicle speed signal is sent via CAN communication to the combination meter assembly to operate the speedometer. The seat belt warning buzzer, etc. may operate when performing this Active Test.

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2021 - 11/2022]

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2021 - 11/2022]
