DTC B1500-13: Fuel Sender Circuit Open; DTC B1501-13: Sub Fuel Sender Circuit Open [09/2021 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B1500-13 is output A
      B1501-13 is output B
      B1500-13 and B1501-13 are output C

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the O44 fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O44-1 (FV) - I4-14 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      O44-3 (FS) - I4-31 (FR) Always Below 1 Ω
      O44-2 (FE) - I4-24 (FE&B) Always Below 1 Ω
      O44-1 (FV) or I4-14 (FV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O44-3 (FS) or I4-31 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 
    1. for 2WD:

  5. INSPECT FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Fuel Suction Tube with Pump and Gauge Assembly)      		 - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O44-1 (FV) - A-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      O44-2 (FE) - A-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      O44-3 (FS) - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      O44-1 (FV) - O44-3 (FS) or A-3 - A-1 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O44-1 (FV) - O44-2 (FE) or A-3 - A-2 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O44-2 (FE) - O44-3 (FS) or A-2 - A-1 Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the O199 fuel tank vent tube assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O199-3 (FR) - I4-13 (FR2) Always Below 1 Ω
      O199-1 (FV) - I4-14 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      O199-2 (FE) - I4-24 (FE&B) Always Below 1 Ω
      O199-3 (FR) or I4-13 (FR2)- Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Disconnect the I4 combination meter assembly connector.
