Interior Light Circuit [04/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Turns on the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system* OFF or ON Perform the Active Test with the door linked switch of the map light (roof console box sub-assembly) on and switches of the spot light assembly LH and RH off.
      1. *: Refer to System Description for the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system.

        Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [04/2018 - ] 

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Illuminated Entry System

      OK

      All lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system come on.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [04/2018 - ]  

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT (ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the map light (roof console box sub-assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the map light (roof console box sub-assembly).

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT (ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spot light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the spot light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT (ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY) - SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/O SLIDING ROOF

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O9-10 (+B1) - O8-5 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      O9-2 (RLMP) - O8-2 (CTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      O9-10 (+B1) or O8-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O9-2 (RLMP) or O8-2 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W/ SLIDING ROOF

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O10-14 (+B1) - O8-5 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      O10-2 (RLMP) - O8-2 (CTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      O10-14 (+B1) or O8-5 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O10-2 (RLMP) or O8-2 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT (ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the 4D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/O SLIDING ROOF

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4D-10 - O9-10 (+B1) Always Below 1 Ω
      4D-29 - O9-1 (DOOR) Always Below 1 Ω
      4D-10 or O9-10 (+B1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      4D-29 or O9-1 (DOOR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W/ SLIDING ROOF

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4D-10 - O10-14 (+B1) Always Below 1 Ω
      4D-29 - O10-1 (DOOR) Always Below 1 Ω
      4D-10 or O10-14 (+B1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      4D-29 or O10-1 (DOOR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    - -
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4D-29 - MB-1 (ILE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]
