DTC P3000-00: Hybrid/EV Battery Discharge Control Malfunction [04/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Hybrid Control/Trouble Codes.
4. Check for DTCs.

   Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   P3000-00 or P3000-16 only is output.	A
   DTCs other than P3000-00 and P3000-16 are also output.	B

5. Turn the power switch off.

Result: 

B 

GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [04/2018 - 08/2020]

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Engine/Trouble Codes.
4. Check for DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   No DTCs are output.	A
   DTCs are output.	B

5. Turn the power switch off.

GO TO DTC CHART (SFI SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [04/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - 08/2020]

1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
2. Check the amount of fuel by referring to the fuel gauge in the meter.

   HINT: 

   Add fuel until the low fuel level warning light turns off.

   Result

   There is no fuel in the tank.	B

3. Turn the power switch off.

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Hybrid Control/Trouble Codes.
4. Read the freeze frame data item "Shift Position" of DTC P3000-00.

   Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

   Powertrain > Hybrid Control 

   Tester Display
   Shift Position

   NOTE:

   • When the freeze frame data "Shift Position" was N, DTC P3000-00 may be stored due to the vehicle was left with shift lever in N and the HV battery could not be charged.
   • If DTC "P3000-00" only is output, charge the HV battery without replacing the HV battery if necessary.
5. Turn the power switch off.

   Result

   Proceed to

1. Turn the power switch on (READY).
2. Check if the engine starts.

   HINT: 

   • Depressing the accelerator pedal with shift lever in P will cause the engine to start.
   • Turning the power switch on (READY) and off repeatedly while the SOC is low may cause the SOC to drop further, resulting in DTC P3000-16 being stored. Charge the HV battery using the THS charger as necessary.
   • Cranking the engine once causes the SOC to drop approximately 1%.
   • Charging the HV battery once (10 minutes) using the THS charger restores the SOC approximately 2%.

   Result

3. If the engine does not start, turn the power switch off.

LEAVE VEHICLE WITH SHIFT LEVER IN P, AND CHARGE HV BATTERY BY IDLING UNTIL IDLING STOPS
