DTC B15C3: Speaker Output Short [08/2020 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY, DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) OR SPEAKERS - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G14 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G123 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Disconnect the G7 front No. 2 speaker assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the J3 and J4 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G14-1 (FR+) or G123-1 (SPI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-6 (FR-) or G123-2 (SPI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-2 (FL+) or G7-4 (+TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-7 (FL-) or G7-2 (-TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-4 (RR+) or J3-4 (+TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-9 (RR-) or J3-2 (-TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-3 (RL+) or J4-4 (+TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G14-8 (RL-) or J4-2 (-TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) OR SPEAKER - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G123 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the G6 front No. 2 speaker assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G123-3 (SPO+) or G6-4 (+TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G123-4 (SPO-) or G6-2 (-TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telematics transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 -]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (SPI+) - 3 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (SPI-) - 4 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (SPI+) - 2 (SPI-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SPO+) - 4 (SPO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (SPI+) or 3 (SPO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 (SPI-) or 4 (SPO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 -]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY OR FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I1 and I15 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the G6 and G7 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I1-2 or G6-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I1-1 or G6-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I15-2 or G7-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I15-1 or G7-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY OR REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J11 and J12 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the J3 and J4 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J11-1 or J3-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J11-2 or J3-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J12-1 or J4-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J12-2 or J4-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 -]

    2. Inspect the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 -]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 -] 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 -]

    2. Inspect the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2019 -]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 -] 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 -]

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 -]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK

  9. REPLACE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 -]

    2. Inspect the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2019 -]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END

    REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 -]
