DTC B00B5-12: Driver Seat Track Position Restraints Sensor Circuit Short to Battery [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and seat position sensor (front seat adjuster assembly LH).

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are properly connected
      Connectors are not properly connected

    Result: 

    Connectors are not properly connected 

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY 

    Result: 

    Connectors are properly connected

  2. CHECK CONNECTORS 
    1. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

      *1 Seat Position Sensor (Front Seat Adjuster Assembly LH)
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Disconnect the seat position sensor connector.
    3. Check that the connectors (on the airbag sensor assembly side and seat position sensor (front seat adjuster assembly LH) side) are not damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are not deformed or damaged
      Connectors are deformed or damaged

    Result: 

    Connectors are deformed or damaged 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    Connectors are not deformed or damaged

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B IN THE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

      *1 Seat Position Sensor (Front Seat Adjuster Assembly LH)
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Seat Position Sensor (Front Seat Adjuster Assembly LH))
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U24-1 (GND) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      U24-2 (VS) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK DTC 
    1. Connect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

      *1 Seat Position Sensor (Front Seat Adjuster Assembly LH)
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    4. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    7. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      DTC B00B5-12 is output
      DTC B00B5-12 is not output

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTC B00B5-12 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    Result: 

    DTC B00B5-12 is output 

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    DTC B00B5-12 is not output 

    REPLACE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH). Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]
