DTC B009B-83: Left Side Restraints Sensor 5 Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect [07/2020 - 10/2022]: Procedure

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
2. Check for DTCs.

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Proceed to
   DTC B009B-83 is output
   DTC B009B-83 is not output

Result: 

DTC B009B-83 is not output 

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [07/2020 - ] 

Result: 

DTC B009B-83 is output 

See step  2

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the side No. 2 airbag sensor assembly LH and side airbag pressure sensor LH.

   OK

   The connectors are properly connected.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY 

Result: 

OK 

See step  3

1. Interchange the side airbag pressure sensor LH with RH and connect the connectors to them.

   *1	Side Airbag Pressure Sensor RH
   *2	Side No. 2 Airbag Sensor Assembly LH
   *3	Wire Harness

2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
4. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

5. Turn the ignition switch off.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
7. Check for DTCs.

   Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Proceed to
   DTC B009B-83 is output
   DTC B009E-83 is output

   HINT: 

   Codes other than DTCs B009B-83 and B009E-83 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

8. Turn the ignition switch off.
9. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
10. Return the side airbag pressure sensor RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

Result: 

DTC B009B-83 is output 

REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022] 

Result: 

DTC B009E-83 is output 

REPLACE SIDE AIRBAG PRESSURE SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022]
