Reassembly [07/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front bumper extension sub-assembly LH is necessary.

    1. Install the 2 bolts.

      *a Bolt A
      *b Bolt B
      *c Nut

      Bolt A 

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt B 

      Torque: 9.5 N*m (97 kgf*cm, 84 in.*lbf) 

    2. Install the front bumper extension sub-assembly LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 12.5 N*m (127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER LOWER ABSORBER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front bumper lower absorber is necessary.

    1. Engage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the front bumper lower absorber with the clip.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 engine under cover is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 64

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 2 front bumper reinforcement is necessary.

    1. Install the No. 2 front bumper reinforcement with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)

  6. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly is necessary.

    1. Install the front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

      Install in this Direction
    2. Engage the 3 clamps.

  7. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 

    HINT: 

    For Type A:

    • When replacing the No. 2 front bumper energy absorber with new one:

      Remove the front bumper pads as the front bumper pads will contact the No. 2 front bumper energy absorber.

      See step  30

    • When replacing the front bumper cover with new one:

      Replace the No. 2 front bumper energy absorber with new one.

    1. For Type A:
      1. Engage the 2 guides to install the No. 2 front bumper energy absorber as shown in the illustration.

        Install in this Direction
    2. For Type B:
      1. Engage the 2 guides to install the No. 2 front bumper energy absorber as shown in the illustration.

  8. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front bumper side retainer LH is necessary.

    1. Engage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration to install the front bumper side retainer LH.

  9. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RETAINER 
    1. Install the 2 front fender liner retainers as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  11. INSTALL PIN HOLD CLIP 
    1. Engage the 4 claws as shown in the illustration to install the 2 pin hold clips.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  12. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER PAD (w/ Front Bumper Pad) 

    HINT: 

    When installing the front bumper pad, heat the front bumper cover using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature

    Item Temperature
    Front Bumper Cover 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the front bumper cover excessively.

    1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Install a new front bumper pad.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the front bumper pad.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the 2 front bumper pads as shown in the illustration.

        *a Scribed Line - -

        HINT: 

        • Install the front bumper pad along the scribed line on the front bumper cover.
        • Press the front bumper pad firmly to install it.
  13. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 RADIATOR GRILLE 
    1. Engage the 10 claws.

    2. Install the lower No. 1 radiator grille with the 2 screws.

  14. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER GUARD 
    1. Engage the 5 claws.

  15. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER GUARD PAD LH 
    1. Engage the guide.

  16. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER GUARD PAD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ARM HOLE COVER LH 
    1. Engage the hook.

    2. Engage the 4 claws to install the front bumper arm hole cover LH.
  18. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ARM HOLE COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  19. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE (OR FRONT PANEL) EMBLEM 
    1. Engage the guide and 4 claws.

    2. Install the radiator grille (or front panel) emblem with the screw.
  20. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 10 claws.

  28. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT BUMPER BRACKET RH

  32. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Install the front bumper extension mounting bracket with the 2 screws.

  33. INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE ROOM WIRE 
    1. w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System:
      1. Engage the 5 clamps to install the No. 4 engine room wire.

  34. INSTALL FOG LIGHT SEAL 

    HINT: 

    When installing the fog light seal, heat the front bumper assembly using a heat light.

    HEATING TEMPERATURE

    Front Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the front bumper cover excessively.

    1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the fog light seal installation area.

      Primer
      NOTE:
      • Use a clean brush or felt.
      • Do not touch the front bumper assembly until the primer has dried.
    3. Remove the release paper from a new fog light seal.

      HINT: 

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    4. Install the fog light seal as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      • Install the fog light seal along the line on the front bumper cover.
      • Press the fog light seal firmly to install it.
  35. INSTALL FOG LIGHT COVER LH
