DTC B1508-19: Turn Signal/Hazard Flasher Circuit Current Above Threshold [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All LH side turn signal lights do not blink A
      All RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

  2. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A95 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      Problem symptoms do not change
      (All LH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 A
      LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink B

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  3. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the headlight assembly LH connectors.
    2. Disconnect the G15 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      (All LH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 A

  4. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the S6 rear turn signal light assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink, the rear turn signal light LED LH is malfunctioning.

    REPLACE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT LED LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LH SIDE (ALL PARTS) - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A95 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G15 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the E140 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A95-2 (B), G15-1(B) or E140-5 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S6-2 (B), G15-1(B) or E140-22 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (OUTER MIRROR RETRACTOR LH) 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH from the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

    2. Connect the G15 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If all LH side turn signal lights do not blink, the outer mirror retractor LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink A
      All LH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR RETRACTOR LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [10/2022 - ] 

  7. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A94 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, the headlight assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (All RH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 A
      RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink B

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  8. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the headlight assembly RH connectors.
    2. Disconnect the G13 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

  9. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the S5 rear turn signal light assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink, the rear turn signal light LED RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

    REPLACE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT LED RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - ]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RH SIDE (ALL PARTS) - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A94 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G13 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the E140 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A94-2 (B), G13-1 (B) or E140-6 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S5-2 (B), G13-1 (B) or E140-21 (TRNR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  11. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (OUTER MIRROR RETRACTOR RH) 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH from the outer rear view mirror assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

    2. Connect the G13 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If all RH side turn signal lights do not blink, the outer mirror retractor RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      All RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result:

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]
