Disassembly [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 SLIDING ROOF HOUSING PAD 
    1. Remove the No. 2 sliding roof housing pad.

  2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts to sliding roof drive gear assembly.

  3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING PAD 
    1. Remove the sliding roof housing pad.

  4. REMOVE REAR SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Move the sunshade trim sub-assembly to the fully open position.
    2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear sliding roof side garnish LH.

  5. REMOVE REAR SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE CENTER SLIDING ROOF HOUSING FRAME 
    1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 "TORX" screws to center sliding roof housing frame.

  7. REMOVE SUNSHADE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 guides in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) shown in the illustration.

      *1 Sliding Roof Sunshade Guide LH
      *a Back Side
      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the other side.

    2. Remove the sliding roof sunshade guide LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the other side.

    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove part (A) as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction Protective Tape

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw of the sliding roof sunshade plate LH.

      Protective Tape

      HINT: 

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
      • Use the same procedure for the other side.
    5. Using a screwdriver, remove the sunshade trim sub-assembly with sliding roof sunshade plate LH as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
      Protective Tape

      HINT: 

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
      • Use the same procedure for the other side.
    6. Remove the sliding roof sunshade plate LH from the sunshade trim sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the other side.

    7. Push the retractor cap, lift up the sunshade trim sub-assembly in the direction of the arrow (1) and then remove it in the direction of the arrow (2) as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      To prevent the sunshade trim sub-assembly from being damaged, fully push in the RH side retractor cap before lifting the sunshade trim sub-assembly to separate it from the slide roof rail sub-assembly.
