Removal [08/2018 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to: PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019] .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to: INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019] .

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 11

  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 13

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 36

  6. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 37

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 38

  8. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 39

  9. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the instrument panel airbag.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
