Daytime Running Light Circuit [06/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Daytime Running Light Daytime running lights OFF or ON -

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Daytime Running Light

      OK

      Daytime running lights illuminate.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2020 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL RELAY - BATTERY) 
    1. Remove the DRL relay.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to DRL Relay)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (DRL relay) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      5 (DRL relay) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT DRL RELAY 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [06/2020 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE DRL RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL RELAY - HEADLIGHT UNIT LH) 
    1. Remove the DRL relay.
    2. Disconnect the A55 headlight unit LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A54 headlight unit RH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (DRL relay) - A55-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (DRL relay) or A55-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL RELAY - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the DRL relay.
    2. Disconnect the 4E power distribution box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (DRL relay) - 4E-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (DRL relay) or 4E-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the power distribution box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Power Distribution Box Assembly)
      - -
    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the power distribution box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4E-3 - A-7 (DRL) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]
