ECU Power Source Circuit [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY (IGCT VOLTAGE) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the No. 1 traction battery cover.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    3. Connect the SST.

      Refer to Instructions for Connecting SST [06/2020 - ] 

    4. Disconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    5. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    7. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      j3-5 (IGCT) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      NOTE:
      • Turning the ignition switch to ON with the service plug grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
      • If the ignition switch is turned to ON with the connectors disconnected, other DTCs will be stored. Be sure to clear the DTCs after the inspection.
    8. Turn the ignition switch off.
    9. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    10. Reconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
    11. Disconnect the SST.
    12. Install the No. 1 traction battery cover.

      Result

      Proceed to

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the No. 1 traction battery cover.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    3. Disconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      j3-25 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      j3-26 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      j3-27 (GND2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    5. Reconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
    6. Install the No. 1 traction battery cover.

      Result

      Proceed to

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK FUSE (IGCT SCENE NO. 3) 
    1. Remove the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse from the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Luggage Room Relay Block Assembly
      *2 IGCT SCENE NO. 3 Fuse
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse to the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.

      Result

      Proceed to

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 LUGGAGE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse from the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.
    3. Remove the No. 1 traction battery cover.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    4. Connect the SST.

      Refer to Instructions for Connecting SST [06/2020 - ] 

    5. Disconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    7. Reconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
    8. Disconnect the SST.
    9. Install the No. 1 traction battery cover.
    10. Install the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse to the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.

      Result

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 LUGGAGE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse from the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.
    2. Remove the IGCT SCENE relay from the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Install the IGCT SCENE relay to the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.
    5. Install the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse to the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.

      Result

    CHECK ECU POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM) 

    Refer to ECU Power Source Circuit [10/2022 - ]

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 LUGGAGE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse from the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.
    3. Remove the No. 1 traction battery cover.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    4. Connect the SST.

      Refer to Instructions for Connecting SST [06/2020 - ] 

    5. Disconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Before disconnecting the connector, check that it is not loose or disconnected.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    7. Reconnect the j3 battery ECU assembly connector.
    8. Disconnect the SST.
    9. Install the No. 1 traction battery cover.
    10. Install the IGCT SCENE NO. 3 fuse to the No. 1 luggage room relay block assembly.

      Result
