Removal [06/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [06/2020 - 10/2022]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR BELT SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  11. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH

      Protective Tape

      Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip and remove the clip.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip and remove part of the rear door weatherstrip LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH (CENTER PILLAR SIDE) 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side), if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the rear door panel and rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) using a heat light.

    Standard

    Item Temperature
    Rear Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Rear Door Window Frame Moulding LH (Center Pillar Side) 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear door panel and rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) excessively.

    1. Using a heat light, heat the rear door panel and rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).
    2. Put protective tape around the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

    3. Using moulding remover D, detach the clip.

    4. Using a scraper, start from the top and remove the double-sided tape from the back of the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

    5. Detach the guide and remove the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE SEAL LH 
    1. Remove the rear door front outside seal LH.

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH (REAR PILLAR SIDE) 
    1. Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
    2. Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

      Area Measurement
      A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)
      NOTE:

      Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Put protective tape around the rear door window frame moulding LH (rear pillar side).

    4. Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 3 rivets.

      WARNING:

      Be careful of the drilled rivets, as they may be hot.

      NOTE:
      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
      • Prying the rivets with the drill may damage the rivet installation holes or drill bit.
    5. Detach the guide to remove the rear door window frame moulding LH (rear pillar side) from the rear door frame.
    6. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR UPPER WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH 
    1. Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
    2. Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
