DTC C1440: Steering Angle Sensor Unusual Bank Angle Detected [02/2019 - 12/2021]: Procedure

1. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2019 - 12/2021]

   Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

2. Turn the ignition switch off.
3. Perform a road test.
4. Check if the same DTC is output.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [02/2019 - 12/2021]

   Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC C1440 is output.	A
   DTC C1440 is not output.	B
   Yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTCs are output.	C

   Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

   HINT: 

   • If the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) stores DTC C1440 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.
   • This is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and if normal VSC operation resumes.
