DTC C050C-49: Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Internal Electronic Failure; DTC C0512-49: Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Internal Electronic Failure [11/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE 
    1. Check the vehicle specification.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      (to Rear Speed Sensor (Rear Axle Hub and Bearing Assembly))

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the M50 or N58 rear speed sensor (rear axle hub and bearing assembly) connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N58-2 (LA+) - N58-1 (LA-) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    2. Disconnect the M50 or N58 rear speed sensor (rear axle hub and bearing assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the MM2 or NN2 skid control sensor wire (parking brake wire assembly) connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N58-1 (LA-) or NN2-4 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A39 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the MM2 or NN2 skid control sensor wire (parking brake wire assembly) connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      NN2-4 or A39-23 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      NN2-3 - Body ground Always Below 1.5 V
      FOR RH

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A39 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the MM2 or NN2 skid control sensor wire (parking brake wire assembly) connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      NN2-3 - A39-39 (RL+) Always Below 1 Ω
