DTC C050C-1F: Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent; DTC C0512-1F: Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent [11/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE 
    1. Check the vehicle specification.

  2. REPLACE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  3. CHECK REAR SPEED SENSOR (CHECK FOR FOREIGN MATTER) 
    1. Remove the rear speed sensor.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Check the rear speed sensor.

      OK

      The rear speed sensor tip is free of oil and foreign matter.

      HINT: 

      If foreign matter of 1 mm (0.03937 in.) x 1 mm (0.03937 in.) or more is adhered to the rear speed sensor rotor, this DTC may be stored.

  4. CHECK REAR SPEED SENSOR ROTOR (CHECK FOR FOREIGN MATTER) 
    1. Remove the component with the rear speed sensor rotor.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    2. Check the rear speed sensor rotor.

      OK

      The rear speed sensor rotor is free of oil and foreign matter.

      HINT: 

      If foreign matter of 1 mm (0.03937 in.) x 1 mm (0.03937 in.) or more is adhered to the rear speed sensor rotor, this DTC may be stored.

  5. CLEAN REAR SPEED SENSOR ROTOR 
    1. Clean the rear speed sensor rotor.
      NOTE:

      Do not use parts cleaner when cleaning the rear speed sensor rotor.

  6. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Operate the Techstream to clear the codes. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs 

    4. Press the DTC clear button.

      Result

  7. PERFORM DEALER MODE (SIGNAL CHECK) INSPECTION (SPEED SENSOR CHECK) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Using the Techstream, perform a Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection sensor check and check that speed sensor Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection items change from incomplete to complete. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Utility / Signal Check.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [11/2018 - ]

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility

      Speed sensor Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection items change from incomplete to complete.

    REPLACE REAR SPEED SENSOR AND REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY

    for rear speed sensor rotor (rear axle hub and bearing assembly): Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  8. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Perform a road test under the same malfunction conditions recreated based on the Freeze Frame Data or customer problem analysis.
    4. Read the DTCs following the prompts on the Techstream. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    5. Check if the same DTC is output.

  9. CLEAN REAR SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Clean the rear speed sensor.
      NOTE:

      When cleaning the rear speed sensor, make sure to clean the installation hole before installation.

  10. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Press the DTC clear button.
