DTC B1500-13: Fuel Sender Circuit Open; DTC B1501-13: Sub Fuel Sender Circuit Open [02/2019 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Check vehicle condition.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2018 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G18 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N27 fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the M18 No. 2 fuel sender gauge assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G18-24 (FE&B) - N27-2 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      G18-14 (FV) - N27-1 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      G18-24 (FE&B) or N27-2 (FE) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G18-14 (FV) or N27-1 (FV) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 10/2022]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the N27 fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G18 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N27-3 (FS) - G18-31(FR) Always Below 1 Ω
      N27-2 (FE) - G18-24 (FE&B) Always Below 1 Ω
      N27-1 (FV) - G18-14 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      N27-3 (FS) or G18-31 (FR) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - 08/2020]

    2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly.

      w/ Canister Pump Module:

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - ]

      w/o Canister Pump Module:

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2018 - 08/2020]

    REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

  6. INSPECT FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N27-1 (FV) - A-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      N27-2 (FE) - A-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      N27-3 (FS) - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the M18 No. 2 fuel sender gauge assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G18 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M18-3 (FR) - G18-13(FR2) Always Below 1 Ω
      M18-2 (FE) - G18-24 (FE&B) Always Below 1 Ω
      M18-1 (FV) - G18-14 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      M18-3 (FR) or G18-13(FR2) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the N47 fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G18 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N47-3 (FS) - G18-31(FR) Always Below 1 Ω
      N47-2 (FE) - G18-24 (FE&B) Always Below 1 Ω
      N47-1 (FV) - G18-14 (FV) Always Below 1 Ω
      N47-3 (FS) or G18-31 (FR) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N47-2 (FE) or G18-24 (FE&B) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N47-1 (FV) or G18-14 (FV) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly.
