Hybrid System Indicator Malfunction [11/2015 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication DTCs are output.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2017 - 12/2018] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [12/2018 - 08/2019] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2019 - 07/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [07/2020 -]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication DTCs are not output. A
      CAN communication DTCs are output. B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2018 -]

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (HV SYSTEM INDICATOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [11/2015 -]

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HV SYSTEM INDICATOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

      Hybrid system indicator value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the hybrid system indicator indication.

    GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM 

    for Nickel Metal Hydride Battery: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 -]

    for Lithium-ion Battery: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 -]

    Result:

  4. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE) 
    1. Replace the combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) with a new or known good one.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2015 -]

      OK

      The operation of the hybrid system indicator returns to normal.

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -]
