DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [12/2018 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

      Result

      All LH side turn signal lights do not blink A
      All RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

  2. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  3. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A64 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the turn switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, the headlight front turn signal LED LH malfunctioning.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (All LH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LED LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

  4. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A11 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the turn switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, a component of the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (All LH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 B

    Result:

  5. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the headlight front turn signal LED LH from the headlight assembly LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

    2. Connect the A11 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the all LH side turn signal lights do not blink, the headlight unit assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      All LH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LED LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -] 

  6. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the A64*1 or A11*2 headlight assembly LH connector.
      1. *1: w/ AFS
      2. *2: w/o AFS
    2. Disconnect the M43 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink, the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (All LH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LH SIDE EACH PARTS - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE)) 
    1. Disconnect the A64*1 or A11*2 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F7 combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A64-2 (B)*1, A11-2 (B)*2 or F7-12 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M43-3 (B) or F7-13 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *1: w/ AFS
      2. *2: w/o AFS

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [11/2015 -] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CONFIRM MODEL

  9. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A67 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Operate the turn switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, the headlight front turn signal LED RH malfunctioning.

  10. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A34 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Operate the turn switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, a component of the headlight assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

  11. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the headlight front turn signal LED RH from the headlight assembly RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

    2. Connect the A34 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the all RH side turn signal lights do not blink, the headlight unit assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      All RH side turn signal lights do not blink B

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LED RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -] 

  12. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the A67*1 or A34*2 headlight assembly RH connector.
      1. *1: w/ AFS
      2. *2: w/o AFS
    2. Disconnect the M42 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink, the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (All RH side turn signal lights do not blink)      		 B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2018 -]

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RH SIDE EACH PARTS - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE)) 
    1. Disconnect the A67*1 or A34*2 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F7 combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
