Removal [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [05/2019 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the tonneau cover assembly.
  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD 
    1. Remove the rear No. 2 floor board.
  5. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 FLOOR BOARD 
    1. Remove the rear No. 4 floor board.
  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD 
    1. Remove the rear No. 3 floor board.
  7. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear No. 1 floor board.
  8. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 5 guides to remove the deck floor box LH.

  9. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 4 guides to remove the deck floor box RH.

  10. REMOVE DECK TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  11. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER 
    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the 4 clips to remove the rear deck trim cover.
  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the front side and rear side.

    2. Disengage the 6 claws and 2 guides to remove the front door scuff plate LH as shown in the illustration.

  13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips to remove the cowl side trim board LH as shown in the illustration.
  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Apply protective tape around the front pillar garnish LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Pull the upper part of the front pillar garnish LH toward the inside of the cabin to disengage the clip and the front pillar garnish LH from the base of the front pillar garnish clip.

      HINT: 

      Let the front pillar garnish LH hang from the front pillar garnish clip.

    3. While pushing the tabs of the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration, disengage it.

      NOTE:
      • The front pillar garnish clip is reusable if it is not damaged.
      • If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.

      HINT: 

      When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be disengaged easily:

      1. While pushing the tab of the front pillar garnish clip shown in the illustration with your finger, move the front pillar garnish clip in the direction shown in the illustration.

      2. While pulling the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration, push the tab of the front pillar garnish clip shown in the illustration with a screwdriver and disengage the front pillar garnish clip.

    4. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the front pillar garnish LH as shown in the illustration.

    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

      *1 Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly LH
      *a Protective Cover
      *b Adhesive Tape
      1. Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover, such as a cloth, and secure the edges of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  18. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  19. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  20. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Pull the lower center pillar garnish LH in the directions indicated by the arrows (1) shown in the illustration to disengage the 2 claws (A).

    2. Pull the lower center pillar garnish LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to disengage the 2 claws (B).

    2. Disengage the claw, 4 clips and guide to remove the rear under side cover LH as shown in the illustration.
  34. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Loosen the bolt to remove the rear seatback hinge sub-assembly LH.

  35. REMOVE REAR PILLAR COVER LH 
    1. Disengage the 7 claws and guide to remove the rear pillar cover LH as shown in the illustration.

  36. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Disconnect the rear seat side airbag assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.

  37. REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP (for LH Side) 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to remove the No. 1 tonneau cover holder cap as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the assist grip cover LH.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

    4. Disengage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the assist grip assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the assist grip assembly.

    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 claws as shown in the illustration and remove the visor bracket cover.

    1. for "TORX" Screw:

      1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 screws.
    2. except "TORX" Screw:
      1. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Pull the visor assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) shown in the illustration to disconnect it from the visor holder LH.

    4. Pull the visor assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to remove it.
  63. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER LH 
    1. Turn the visor holder LH approximately 45° and remove it as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the base of the visor holder LH.

  66. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER RH 

    HINT:

  67. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 
    1. for Windshield Glass Side:
      1. Disconnect each connector.
    2. for Front Pillar LH Side:
      1. Remove the protective cover.
      2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 clamps.

      3. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
      4. Install the protective cover.
    3. for Front Pillar RH Side:
      1. Remove the protective cover.
      2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clamps.

        *A w/ Satellite Radio
      3. Disconnect each connector.
      4. Install the protective cover.
    4. for Rear Pillar RH Side:

      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    5. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    6. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or vehicle interior.
