Hazard Warning Switch Circuit [09/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Hazard Flasher Switch Hazard warning signal switch signal OFF or ON OFF: Hazard warning signal switch off
      ON: Hazard warning signal switch on      		 -

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2016 - ]

    NG

  2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [05/2019 - 07/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

    2. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to INSPECTION [05/2019 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2016 - 05/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [05/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I7 combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      V1-5 (TB) - I7-10 (HAZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      V1-5 (TB) or I7-10 (HAZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      V1-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2016 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
