Removal [11/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION

  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 

    See step  3

  3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021]

  4. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Push Area Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2) Remove in this Direction (3)
      1. Remove the 3 screws.
      2. Press the part in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the claw.
      3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the lower steering column cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
  5. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction
      1. Detach the claws and guides as shown in the illustration.
      2. Disengage the claw to remove the upper steering column cover.
  6. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

      *a Clamp - -
      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disconnect each connector from the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
      2. Using pliers, support the band clamp while loosened.
      3. Disengage the claw to remove the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly from the steering column assembly.
  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021]

  8. REMOVE AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 

    See step  10

  10. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark - -
      1. Put matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column assembly.
      2. Remove the bolt.
      3. Disconnect each connector and disengage each wire harness clamp from the steering column assembly.
      4. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and steering column assembly.
      5. Remove the steering column assembly from the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.
  11. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2020 - 12/2023]

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
