Steering Pad Switch Circuit [11/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Multi Switch (Up) Up switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed

      Multi Switch (Down) Down switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Multi Switch (Left) Left switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Multi Switch (Right) Right switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Multi Switch (Enter) OK switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Multi Switch (Back) Back switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -
      Multi Switch (Menu) Menu switch on steering pad switch operation OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      -

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Multi Switch (Up)
      Multi Switch (Down)
      Multi Switch (Left)
      Multi Switch (Right)
      Multi Switch (Enter)
      Multi Switch (Back)
      Multi Switch (Menu)

      OK

      Multi switch condition displayed on the GTS changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [11/2020 - 12/2023]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [11/2020 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D41*1 or D43*2 combination meter assembly connector.
      1. *1: w/o Advanced Drive
      2. *2: w/ Advanced Drive
    2. Disconnect the D32 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/O ADVANCED DRIVE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D41-2 (MSM+) - D32-11 (+DP) Always Below 1 Ω
      D41-3 (MSTI) - D32-10 (+DP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      D41-2 (MSM+) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D41-3 (MSTI) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D32-4 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      W/ ADVANCED DRIVE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D43-12 (MSM+) - D32-11 (+DP) Always Below 1 Ω
      D43-29 (MSTI) - D32-10 (+DP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      D43-12 (MSM+) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D43-29 (MSTI) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D32-4 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
