Removal [11/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2021 - 12/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2022 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

      Protective Tape - -
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 3 claws as shown in the illustration to remove the front wiper arm head cap.

        HINT: 

        Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

      1. Disconnect the 2 windshield washer hose assemblies.
        NOTE:

        Ensure that the washer grommet is not removed.

      2. Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.

        HINT: 

        While holding the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH, loosen the nut.

  4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

      1. Disconnect the 2 windshield washer hose assemblies.
        NOTE:

        Ensure that the washer grommet is not removed.

      2. Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.

        HINT: 

        While holding the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH, loosen the nut.

  5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - 12/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2022 - 12/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER PROTECTOR RH

  10. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    NOTE:

    To prevent damage to the windshield glass, remove any foreign matter (sand, dust, etc.) from around the contacting surfaces of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and windshield glass.

      1. Disconnect the 2 windshield washer hose assemblies as shown in the illustration
        NOTE:

        Make sure to disconnect the windshield washer hose assembly as shown in the illustration to prevent improper installation during reinstallation.

      2. Disconnect the clamp.
      3. Remove the 4 clips.

      A 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) - -
      1. Apply protective tape to a moulding remover as shown in the illustration.

      *a Starting Position:
      Side of Cowl Top Ventilator Louver Sub-assembly and Moulding Remover Aligned
      *b Inserted as Far as Possible
      Place Hand Here - -
      1. Insert a moulding remover at the starting position, as far as it can be inserted, to lift the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and then hold it as shown in the illustration.

      *a Starting Position:
      Side of Cowl Top Ventilator Louver Sub-assembly and Moulding Remover Aligned
      *b Inserted to Edge of Protective Tape
      *c Not Inserted at Starting Position *d Not Inserted to Edge of Protective Tape
      *e Not Inserted Straight *f Piece of Cloth or Equivalent
      Protective Tape - -
      1. Insert the moulding remover at the starting position until the edge of the protective tape is aligned with the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • To prevent damage to the windshield glass, set a piece of cloth between the moulding remover and windshield glass.
        • Make sure to insert the moulding remover until the edge of protective tape is aligned with the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly, otherwise the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly may be deformed or damaged.

      Push in this Direction (A) Push in this Direction (B)
      1. While pushing the moulding remover in the direction indicated by the arrow (A), push the moulding remover in the direction indicated by the arrow (B) to disengage the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Make sure to repeat this procedure to disengage the entire cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
        • Make sure to perform this procedure while pushing the moulding remover in the direction indicated by the arrow (A), otherwise the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly may be deformed or damaged.
        • Make sure not to pry the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly more than necessary to disengage it, otherwise it may be deformed or damaged.

      *a Half Width of Moulding Remover - -
      Order of Removal - -
      1. Using the moulding remover, repeatedly pry up the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly while gradually moving the moulding remover half of its width laterally toward the center of the vehicle and then repeat the procedure from the other side of the vehicle as shown in the illustration to disengage the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly from the windshield glass.
        NOTE:
        • Make sure to move the moulding remover only half of its width laterally after prying up the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly, otherwise the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly may be damaged or deformed.
        • Make sure not to lift up or pull the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly by hand before it is completely disengaged, otherwise it may be deformed or damaged.

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction
      1. Pull the front of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly upward and rotate it as shown in the illustration, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR COVER

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction
      1. Detach the claw.
      2. Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration and pull in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the clamp.

      Slide in this Direction - -
      1. Detach the claw and remove the wiper motor cover.
      2. Slide the wiper motor cover in the direction of the shown in the illustration to remove it.
  12. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

    NOTE:

    Be careful not to damage the windshield glass when removing the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.

      *a Motor Grommet - -
      Slide in this Direction - -
      1. Remove the 2 bolts.
      2. Detach the grommet and remove the front wiper motor and link as shown in the illustration.
      3. Slide the front wiper motor and link toward the inside of the vehicle and detach the wire harness clamp.
      4. Slide the front wiper motor and link toward the inside of the vehicle and detach the wire harness clamp.

      1. Pull out the front wiper motor and link from the vehicle and disconnect the connector.
  13. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      *a 45° - -
      Remove in this Direction Rotate in this Direction
      Protective Tape - -
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the No. 1 wiper ring rod from the wiper motor pivot as shown in the illustration.
      2. Rotate the wiper crank arm 45° in the counterclockwise direction from the automatic stop position.
      3. Remove the 3 bolts and the windshield wiper motor assembly.
        NOTE:

        Do not remove the wiper crank arm from the windshield wiper motor assembly.
