DTC B2424: Headlight Beam Level Control Motor LH Lost Communication; DTC B2425: Headlight Beam Level Control Motor RH Lost Communication [08/2021 - 12/2023]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A96-20 (LINL) - C-13 (LINLI) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [11/2020 - 11/2021]  , or refer to  DISASSEMBLY [11/2021 - 12/2023]

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2020 - 11/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 12/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2022 - 12/2023] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the A96 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    • Disconnect the A97 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A96-20 (LINL) - A97-20 (LINL) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (LINL TERMINAL SIGNAL OUTPUT) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Connect the A96 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    • Using the GTS, check the waveform.

      OK

      A96-20 (LINL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Pulse generation

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the A96 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    • Disconnect the A97 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A96-20 (LINL) or A97-20 (LINL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
