Pattern Select Switch Snow Mode Circuit [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK) 

    See step  1

    Result Proceed to
    All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed A
    None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed B

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    w/ Front LiDAR Sensor: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2023 - ]

    w/o Front LiDAR Sensor: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    A

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output. A
      DTCs are output. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART 

    Result: 

    A

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (SNOW MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

      Powertrain > EV > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Snow Mode Switch

      Powertrain > EV > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition
      Snow Mode Switch SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) condition ON or OFF SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) not operated: OFF
      SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) being pushed and held: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The display changes according to the SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) operation. A
      The display does not change according to the SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) operation. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    A 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2023 - ]

    B

  4. INSPECT SNOW MODE SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [11/2020 - ]

    NG

    NG 

    REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SNOW MODE SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D74 SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to SNOW Mode Switch (Pattern Select Switch Assembly))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D74-2 (E) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG
    3. Reconnect the D74 SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SNOW MODE SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - EV CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D74 SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the A8 EV control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to SNOW Mode Switch (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)
      *b Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to EV Control ECU)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D74-5 (SNSW) - A8-24 (SNOW) Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω
      D74-5 (SNSW) or A8-24 (SNOW) - Body ground Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the A8 EV control ECU connector.
    5. Reconnect the D74 SNOW mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE EV CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
